Step by step

The setup flow depends on whether you're using a Safora LoRaWAN gateway or connecting Fence Shield sensors to your own LNS / gateway. Pick the tab that matches your deployment:

Using a Safora gateway

1. Assemble and install the gateway Mount and power the Safora LoRaWAN gateway at your site. → LoRaWAN Gateway Installation

2. Deploy the Fence Shield sensors Mount the sensors along the fence line and register them on ChirpStack. → LNS Registration · Installation

3. Configure the devices on the dashboard Assign devices to your site and verify the live map. → Adding and Configuring Devices

Using your own LNS

1. Integrate the devices to your LNS Use Fence Shield's regional settings, device profile, and OTAA keys to register it on your own network server. → LoRaWAN Parameters

2. Deploy the Fence Shield sensors Mount the sensors along the fence line. → Installation

3. Configure the devices on the dashboard Assign devices to your site and verify the live map. → Adding and Configuring Devices

Once devices are live on the dashboard, set up mobile alerts and, for conservation deployments, connect EarthRanger.
